Well, I started this thread in our old forum. The old version was crappy and too incomplete. If noone will delete this thread, I will complete it as soon as possible.
I hope it is useful.
+ Discription of Dyes/Symbols +
Symbols are a special kind of equipment. You can see them in the same window as the jewelary and armor-parts. Their slots are set on the right side. The number of Symbols a character can carry with depends on his level and class. Until you completed your second profession quest, you are able to equip just one symbol per character. If your level is 40+, most classes can equip 3 symbols at the same time. This is the maximum. Some classes like of the Orc race can only equip 2 symbols as maximum. But according to normal equipement you can only arm/disarm symbols at a "Symbol Maker" NPC.
Dyes are the key-mats a Symbol is made of. To create/equip a symbol you need 10 dyes of the same stats, a "Symbol Maker" NPC and ofcourse some money.
Symbols higher/lower your base-stats.
+ Discription of Stats +
When you open your character-menu, you will see a lot of different stats. They are seperated in two groups, active-stats and passive-stats[/b](base stats).
The active-stats are in the upper box. They show you things like running-speed, magic-attack and physical-defense. The values behind the names are variable. They change if you equip/disarm a weapon, the jewelary or armor (parts), or if you recive/loose buffs or debuffs. This stats show your power. The higher they are the stronger you are.
The passive-stats are in the lower box - They are base-stats. You recive them on your day of creation and they remain constant until you delete the char. The height of the stats depends on your race and class (sometimes on your armor-set). For example, Dark Elvens got more STR and INT, Elvens more WIT and DEX than other races. Every race and class got its special combination.
STR (strength)
+ P.Atk physical attack
CON (constitution)
+ P.def physical defense
+ Maximum HP health points (the red bar in your combat-interface)
+ Maximum CP combat points (the yellow bar in your combat-interface)
+ HP recovery speed
+ Weight limit (how much weight (armor, weapon, items ... etc) you can carry)
+ Under water breath gauge (how long you can be underwater without loosing HP continiously)
+ Shock/stun ressistance
+ Poison/bleeding ressistance
DEX (dexterity)
+ Atk.spd attack speed
+ Critical (the rate and power of critical physical hits)
+ Speed
+ Evasion
+ Accuracy
+ Shield block rate
INT (intelligence)
+ M.atk magic attack
+ Landing rate of casted curses
WIT
+ Casting speed
+ Rate of magic-criticals
MEN (mentality)
+ M.def magical defense
+ Maximum MP mana points
+ MP recovery speed
+ Landing rate of recived curses
+ reduces chance of interruption during casting[/ul]
+ How symbols work +
Symbols not only enhance base stats. Whenever you have equipped one, it enhances one stat and decreases the value of another stat. If you take a look on the base-stats, you see that the fighter-related stats (STR, CON and DEX) are on the upper row, the mage-related stats (INT, WIT and MEN) are on the lower row. If you enhance one stat of a row, it decreases automatically one other stat of the same row. Here is a little example:
If you equip a symbol which highers your CON by 1, it either decreases STR or DEX by 1. What stat will be decreased depends on you. But it is impossible to equip a symbol which highers CON by 1 and lowers MEN by 1.
When you equiped more symbols you are able to higher a stat by 5 (in C4) as maximum. Lowering stats has no borders.
+ Different kinds of symbols +
At first, there are basically two types of symbols you can equip. The newbie-symbols and the higher-grade-symbols. The newbie-symbol you can only equip between level 1 and first profession (at level 20). These symols work with the same system:
X+1 Y-1
The higher-grade-symbols have different subclasses. Here is a list of all:
Note: Newbie dyes have different prices, cause some types cost more. E. g. DEX and INT cost 16,200 a, the rest 6,885 a.
Note: The prices are variable. I took those from goddard, they are average like (not the cheapest, and not the most expensive).
Edit : Maikeru : I added this little table. Hope you don't mind Hellfire.
I hope it is useful.
