You all know this problem, everything is good, you wear a complete set and have a nice weapon, maybe a good jewelary set as well, and then - you die. That won't be a great problem, because we are on a 15x server, but when you died you droped something. If you are lucky, you only droped your shots or potions. If you are unlucky you droped one or more parts of your armor, jewelary and if you are really unlucky, you have droped your weapon. This is annoying.
When I talked to different people of our server, I found out everybody annoys droping - why not. But not everybody knows how to avoid it (as good as possible). Some people know about Sineater, others are walking encyclopedias, and some don't know anything. If you are a walking encyclopedia, lucky you ^1^. If not, enjoy reading this ...
Droping Weapon
Luckyly, there are only two possibilities to drop your weapon. The first one is, you are PK and you have 5 PKs or more. If you are in this condition, hurry up and trade all your equipment to some1 you know good (e. g. a friend). If some player kills you when you are PK, you might drop your weapon.
The second reason why you could drop a weapon, is: You haven't equiped it. If a weapon only lays in your inventory, it will be handled like a normal item. Only if you equiped it in your hand(s), the special ensurance is activated and you cannot drop it.
Droping Armor/Jewelary
Without an armor, you cannot survive in Battle, wihout jewelary, maybe a few seconds. If you have equiped an c-grade armor or lower-grade armor, the chance is very low to drop it after dying. For some parts of b-grade armors and all a-grade and s-grade armors there is a higher chance to drop - SEALED EQUIPMENT. Breaking the seal means normaly: activating set-effect or making boots/gloves compatible to heavy/light/robe armor. The chance of droping sealed-equipment is very much higher than droping unsealed equipment.
Some Orc fighters wear e. g. sealed armor-parts cause they think "I only need the p.def not the set-effect, so why should I unseal it". Others think as long as it is incomplete, there might be no use for unsealing it. Well, when you drop your sealed-equipment, don't cry - it is your own fault.
If there is currently not possibility to unseal the stuff (sealperiod for A/S-grade), put it in your wh and play with your old armor. If you really wanna risk it, make sure you never level allone, so maybe your partymembers can pickup the equipment for you.
And btw. unseal your shields. A lot of ppl. say "There is no difference between, sealed and unsealed (stats). I won't waste my AA on this." It is true, but the chance of droping it is higher when it is sealed.
Just remember: Don't take sealed stuff with you.[/b]
Droping unsealed equipment and normal Items
Well, at first I need to say, there is no way to make sure you drop nothing when you die. But there are a lot of easy ways how you can lower the chance of droping.
Look at your weightlimit before you go out. I don't mean the 80/100 items you can carry with you, I mean the %-bar at the bottom of your inventory screen. If you have 50% or more your regeneration decreases (hp/mp). That sounds not that dangerous, but the chance of droping something by dying increases rapidly too. Just do yourself a favor and ...
Only go out with less than 50% weight.
Now we come to the PK-count again. If you have more than 5 PKs, the chance of droping something (even if you are not PK and killed by a mob) increases rapidly. So do yourself a favor and ...
Only go out with less than 5 PKs.
Another way to reduce the chance of droping stuff is getting reccommends. The more you have the lower the chance to drop.
But notice, even if you have 0 PKs, complete unsealed equipment, 30% weight and 255 reccommends, there is still an chance to drop parts of your armor, it is low but it exists everytime.
Well, as you can see you PK-count is one of the most important stats. You saw what could happen if it is too high. There are two ways to keep it low. The first one is easy, but for a lot of guys it seems still too difficult:
Just don't PK anybody!
The second way is making the sineater quest ...
The Sineater-Quest
This kind of quest can be made by everyone, everytime (no special level/class needed). There are two variations of the quest, but both are made of the same parts:
- Introductory (a little subquest which has nothing to do with lowering PK count)
- Making a Penitent's Manacles (can be ignored after you did it for the first time)
- Leveling the sineater => clear PKs
Luckyly there are two NPCs to start the quest from. Both look same and do the same things. The varriations only appear because of your level. This NPCs are called Black Judge.
The first one is placed in the newbie-area. South of Floran Village (South of Dion):
I need to say, there is no common teleport to Floran Village. How to get there:
-> Teleport to Heretics Necropolis and use a Scroll of escape.
-> Teleport to Dion (from town to town).
--> Walk south to Floran Village.
--> Teleport there directly by the Priest of Dawn in Dion.
-> Use a special Scroll of Escape - Floran Village.
-> Teleport to Monster-Derby-Track, get out of it (exploit) and walk into east.
The second one is placed north of Hardins Academy. She is standing on a rock downhill:
All Necromancers know this place very good, because there is the only NPC on the server who is selling Cursed Bones. As you can see, the academy is not discribed on the map. It is in the north of the Dragon Valley. How to get there:
-> Teleport directly to Hardins Academy from Hunter Village, Oren Castle Town or Giran Castle Town.
-> Teleport ot Matyrs Necropolis, use a Scroll of Escape and teleport directly over Gatekeeper.
<(INTRODUCTORY)> Part: I
As I told you before, there can occure some varriations in the quest. They only appear in this part of the quest. There are two sub-tasks to do. The one is for lower level ppl. (e. g. till level 50). The other one is for the rest, the highlevels.
(A) Lowleveltask
The Black Judge sends you to Wiseman Casian, who is located in the southern-east of the Wastelands. You can go there by teleporting to Necropolis of Sacrifice, or teleporting from Gludio to Windawood Manor or the southern Entrance of the Wastelands.
When you talk to Casian, he asks you to kill one Tyrant Kingpin and bring him the head of it. This mobs are located in the western territory of the Wastelands:
When you have brought him the head, he sends you back to the Black Judge.
(B) Highleveltask
The Black Judge sends you to an female Elven-Wizzard named Joan, who is located in the 3rd floor of the Ivory Tower.
Joan asks you to go to the Sea of Spores and get there three Trisalim Venom Sacks which can be obtained from Trisalim Tarantulas which are spread all over the Sea of Spores.
You can get there easiely, if you use the Teleport from Oren Castle Town. When you obtained the three Quest-Items you can use a Scroll of Escape and get back to Oren.
Note: This part sounds as easy as the "Lowleveltask", but it contains a very special difficulty which all people underestimate - Orfen. This is the only BOSS-type monster in Lineage II which has no real spawnpoint. It can appear at any location in the Sea of Spores. As she is a BOSS, she has a big repertoir of HP and attack-skills. And she takes a lot of minions with herself. If you are running as hell, you can survive. Don't think about fighting it! If you are unbuffed, prepare to die. Although this thread should show you how to avoid dropping, the problem with Orphen seems to lead to dropping. You can avoid this very easy. As you can do this "Highleveltask" only if you are high-level, the mobs you need to kill for the quest are at least light-blue for you. Deposit all your equipment, except your weapon (you can't drop it while equiped), into your warehouse. Get some buffs and enter the sea. A lot of people are doing the quest every day. A lot of them have never seen Orfen. But I remember a lot of times we entered this foggy sea and it just appeared behind us.
<(PENTIENT'S MANACLES)> Part: II
Have you done the task, the Black Judge asks you to get yourself a Pentient's Manacles. She gives you a list of ingredients and sends you to Pushkin a Blacksmith in Giran Castle Town:
Pushkin is too busy at the moment and asks you to get the ingredients by yourself:
- 1 Blacksmith's Frame
---> 1 Silver Mold
----> 5 Braided Hemp
-----> 5 Stem (25)
----> 5 Cokes
-----> 3 Coal (15)
-----> 3 Charcoal (15)
----> 10 Silver Nugget
---> 5 Varnish of Purity
----> 1 Stone of Purity (5)
----> 3 Coarse Bone Powder (15)
----> 3 Varnish (15)
---> 10 Mithril Ore
- 5 Steel
- 2 Adamantite Nugget
- 10 Silver Nugget
- 10 Cokes
---> 3 Coal (30)
---> 3 Charcoal (30)
Ask your local clan-dwarf or you will pay a lot of money to get the Blacksmith's Frame. Bring all ingredients to Pushkin and he makes you the Petient's Manacles. Now go back to the Black Judge and start the last part of your quest.
Note: After you did this for the first time, you don't have to do it for any further PK-count cleanings. As long as you don't sell/crash/drop it, you can use it everytime. You can not drop the manacles if the curse of the sineater is on it. The manacles has a weight of 800, so you can do yourself a great favor if you let it in warehouse when you don't need it. When you have the manacles from former times, just take it with you and you can start the third quest-part immediately.
<(SINEATER)> Part: III
When you've brought the manacles to the Black Judge she does a special curse on it. From now on you can summon a special servitor when doublecklicking on it, a Sineater:
When you recive the pet, it has the same level of you. When you summoned it, the imp consumes 100 % of your exp. But don't worry, it levels rapidly. In most cases you only need to kill 3-5 mobs of your level, to level it up.
As this pet consumes Food for Wolves it has an inventory. But it is more a punishment than a pet. It has weak stats (you can see a level 78 in the screenshot) and cannot attack. It only cries all over the time and is very slow. When you level it, make sure it stands a bit away, or it can be killed by the AOE-damage of some mobs (e. g. stun). When it dies, it looses exp, ofcourse. But don't worry, it levels too fast.
When you reached the next level, stop leveling it. If you level it more and more, you only loose 1 PK when you bring it back. When you stop after the first level-up, the chances is high that is clears 3-5 PKs at once.
Note: If you are level 75 or higher, there is another good possibility to loose many PKs in short time. You only need to level then Sineater to the maximum = level 80. When you brought it back after this, you loose 5+ PKs at once.
If you brought it back, the Black Judge clears you PKs. If there are still some PKs left, she gives the manacles back to you - the pet will have the same level as you again.
Repeat it as often as necessary. When you cleared all your PK points, the judge gives you the manacles back, but now it is unsealed. As its weight is 800, you better keep it in your warehouse until you need it again.
Btw. if you don't like the name "Sineater" you can give it a special name. The pet keeps it until the manacles will be destructed. If you summon the pet, it can use a special skill. Don't waste your time, it is a fake. The pet always tells you, that this is too powerfull to use it.
Note: This detailed discription should help you lowering your PK-count. But it is no advice to PK as often as possible. The quest eats a lot of time. The pet is really weak and a moron. And, well ... there was never a need to murder. If you wanna fight against somebody, do this in PvP. PK is for those who fear fair battles, for those who are unskilled and weak.
Note: Now we reached the end of the guide. But I need to tell you once again, there is no 100 % grant you won't drop anything after following all this points. They are guiding-lines, they help to minimize the chance of dropping.
Note: Btw. if you ever play on a server with C6 version of Lineage II, you can forget this thread. In C6 they deactivated the dropping of any items after getting killed from a mob. As we still stuck in C4, it is a dream ... nothing more
Take care out there! Good Luck! Have Fun!
When I talked to different people of our server, I found out everybody annoys droping - why not. But not everybody knows how to avoid it (as good as possible).
